In the last week, I've decided to take some action in my portfolio - I've sold 1 stock and bought 2 stocks, I did this to take profit and make more dividend income.
SELL
I've sold my all GE shares, after the news about the swap (if you want) of GE shares for Synchrony shares, the stock price of GE also got too high for me before the swap, so I took the profit , and will watch in the next couple of months to see what will happened with the stock price.
BUY
From the money that I've got from GE sell I've bought:
1) PepsiCo (PEP) - Pepsico's large brand portfolio can be found in almost all grocery stores, convenience store, homes. PEP it is a strong dividend growth stock with a long history of paying dividend.
In the last month Coca Cola (KO) and PepsiCo (PEP) fought about a stake in the yogurt maker - Chobani. Coca Cola decided not to buy the stake but that time PepsiCo didn't announced anything, but I think that eventually they will buy the stake.
From my point of view if those 2 giants fight I will make money anyway or the other.
2) Omega Healthcare (OHI) - The company invests in income producing healthcare facilities; long time care facilities located throughout USA.
After I've sold 2 ETF's from my portfolio - IYR and IXJ, I had no holdings in the REIT and Healthcare sectors,I decided to buy JNJ for the Healthcare sector, but then I had to find a good REIT company that I can understand, so I picked OHI to have REIT stock, also I earned a boost to my Healthcare sector at the same stock.
What do you think about my sell and buys?
Solid swap you got right there PEP, OHI, and JNJ all have long history of dividend increase. Theses buys would increase your yields too.
ReplyDeleteI sold my GE, V, and D to fund my ROTH account. I'm still long GE.
Cheers!
Hi Vivianne
DeleteI'm not chaseing for yields, only for the growth - the high yield is a bonuse for me.
I will look at GE maybe next year to see if the yield is higher than today and maybe I will get in again.
Thanks for stopping by.
